David Khakhaleishvili was a Georgian heavyweight judoka. He competed in +95 kg and openweight categories. Despite competing in golden age of heavyweights, he managed to become one of the most decorated Georgian judokas, having won 1 Olympic gold medal, 2 World silver and bronze medals and 3 European gold medals. He had great hip and makikomi throws with surprisingly quick feet for his stature. Unfortunately, he recently passed away at 49 years of age.
